Airspeed is life, altitude is life insurance, find out how to escape from your aircraft upside down and sinking in a training environment before you need to do it for real.

Make damn sure that the attitude indicator on the machine is serviceable and that you are proficient in using it in the absence of a visible horizon.

Never assume that you actually have a visible horizon - it can disappear in a heartbeat.

Never do it in a machine that does not have a radalt with an audible warning.
