Hi all,

I’m currently a pilot in training in the UK and intend to make aviation my lifelong career, however I’m interested in the smaller jobs (and planes) and hand flying things.

I was wondering if anybody else finds themself in a similar position and what option are out there?

I’ve been considering things like cargo flying in things like a Caravan, survey flying, or perhaps aerobatics and some small charters, and maybe at some point down the line small private jets.

How does one actually go about getting into these niche aviation jobs, and more importantly, is there even demand for it in the UK?

Thanks in advance for any advice given — it would be a big help.

Survey company wise in the UK you have DEA, RVL, Ravenair and flight Cal. Recruitment for the survey world is normally on demand of clients and the recruitment of airlines. Hope this helps.

Ps4 do you by any chance know how many hours Survey Pilots tend to fly per year…?
