According to a recent survey by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), (http://www.afacwa.org/survey_reveals_widespread_harassment_of_flight_attendants) nearly 70 percent of flight attendants in the U.S. have experienced sexual harassment in their careers.

That number dwarfs the figures in other studies, indicating instances of sexual harassment are more pervasive for flight attendants. According to a recent national study commissioned by non-profit Stop Street Harassment (http://www.stopstreetharassment.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Full-Report-2018-National-Study-on-Sexual-Harassment-and-Assault.pdf), 38 percent of women and 13 percent of men surveyed experienced sexual harassment in the workplace.

The flight-attendant study surveyed more than 3,500 flight attendants from 29 U.S. airlines, including some based in South Florida. About 80 percent of respondents were female, but the study didn’t distinguish between the kind of harassment each gender faced.

Not before time. Very glad to see that this is beginning to receive attention.
