airline vs air taxi salary

Hi, maybe someone with experience can enlighten me:

- How do the salaries of an airline pilot compare to those of an air taxi pilot?

- In both cases, how is pay usually calculated -- is there a fixed (base) salary or is everything calculated based on flying hours?
