New routes from Abu Dhabi Al Bateen launched to Sir Bani Yas Island and to Dubai.

Fares from 150AED (one way, I think). Not bad for a nice sightseeing trip along the coast. Fairly infrequent timetable at least to start with.

And an article from The National comparing costs and speed of 4 different ways from the capital to Dubai. The flight lost - mainly because Terminal Two was not expecting any PAX !!!

I fear that the Dubai-Abu service is just a ploy, the cost of 150 aeds, a special offer.

It costs more to park your car in Abu and or Dubai than the flight.

As to time saved: perhaps 20 mins to park car, 1 hour check in, 20 - 30 mins to taxi in and get thru T2, and then depending on destination in Dubai, xxxx mins...and this does not include the flight time.

In all I fear it is a very good way to loose money.... But then I don't have that much to loose anyway.
