KLM their flights school has stopped all training at CAE in the States due to safety concerns. After some incidents in the past few months as well as some serious accidents where a number of people died KLM has started a safety review of the school. As a consequence the management of the school was asked to step down. After a recent near miss all training at CAE was stopped. Reasons mentioned for the incidents according to the press are long working hours, old aircraft with reliability issues etc.

The linked article only refers to one fatal accident.
They had some near misses and an inflight collision, but that ended well (for both planes). As far as I can remember, one plane hit the wing of the other one with its undercarriage. (one plane was from the school, the other from somewhere else).

And KLM didn't notice the old planes BEFORE they signed the contract?

@trim stab

The contract was signed many years ago, presumably the planes were new(er) then....

But there is a reason the entire management of the school was replaced quite recently and allready students report a increasing safety level.
