hey .. those of you having problems wit submitting application to jet airawys..

it could be because your IR is not current anymore.

the jet airways website has a special script which can automatically find out if your IR is current or not, based on your records when u give your name and CPL no.

try renewing your IR and submit your application again and check again.

hope this helps.

How can I get a cessna rating on my indian license? I did my flying in the US, got my Multi Ir on seneca, which is no longer current. I have 150 hrs on cessna 172.

I doubt IR is the problem. It can jam up with so many people applying at the same time. Try a little later, or keep applying. It might get accepted. That's my take. The instrument rating thing is another possible cause.

I just cant understand the purpose behind keeping height as 162.5cm....

Hmmm......

Couple of more solutions

In addition to the changing of email address

1. Make sure everything is valid
( CPL , MEdical , FRTOL , RTR , Passport etc
2. Make sure you tick all the boxes for both English and Hindi

3. Make sure that you weight is below 30 or 25 on the BMI scale
Calculate Your BMI - Metric BMI Calculator (http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmi-m.htm)

Please report back if successful

Nothing can be more funny than this. bloody DGCA doesn't know how many ppl have DGCA lic. let alone there name n lic. no. n exactly how many are unemployed (4500 as being speculated, is calculated by media n UPA) n me saying on the basis of our Aviation ministers reply in parliament on more than 2 occasions. N Jet has made a "special script" to filter on the basis of name n lic. n its validity. I mean come on kuch bhi keh do rumour site hi tau hai.. haan.. :ugh:

To all those applicants who are unable to submit the applications online....

If you happen to live in Mumbai or anywhere near mumbai...

Consider going down to Jet Airways HQ or wherever their HR office is and submit a Cover Letter and Resume and explain to them the reason as to why you are doing so...

Make sure you mention in the Resume all the details asked on the online application...

Oh Yes... Please go in Formals

And please report back here if successfull or not

Good Luck :ok:

P.S : For those of you not living anywhere near mumbai ask one of your friends to do it for you or go to Mumbai and do it yourself .
You never know if it may turn out succesful

i dont think you can apply with an awaiting CPL application...What you can surely do is go to DGCA and tell them to atleast give those details to you.. But it can only happen when your application is processed and the only thing remaining is posting your license to you...so go and sit on there head.. Get your license no and other details..I am sure they will do it..

Pulkdahulk
12th Jan 2011, 05:00
Shikes!!!

What is wrong with every body on this forum, this is the problem, that is the problem, the IR is lapsed, that multi engine hours has to be 00 hrs and 00 mins, email ID issues, DGCA has records of this or that

Seriously??????

Yes there is a script that every company uses for its HR, the whole system may be jammed because of send-blink-click responses.

Too many people sending, thats it, again
Too many people sending, thats it....try again sometime when at night or early morning.

Are you really all pilots that think logically or make random out of the world guesses. If ever given a problem, think through the problem.

If your IR is lapsed - you won't be eligible for the Type NOC. You can enter your Lapsed IR and still the application will GO.

Except: That script will filter that IR lapsed and will not show to the HR in the final list of all applicants.

So if you fill it out, it will NOT show in the final list of all applicants when Jet will send emails to people for Interviews. But if you do send a lapsed IR, fine, just update the HR with that email letting them you know your Reference Number with the renewed one.

cyrilroy21
12th Jan 2011, 07:00
Well think of it this way

The application form was probably designed by their Human Resources Department.

They are aware of that an RTR license exists but may not be aware of the different categories like RTR(C) or RTR (P) or RTR (A)

I believe the privileges remain the same for all the three anyway...

cyrilroy21
12th Jan 2011, 07:57
Not sure about the current IR....:suspect:

However I guess you should try your luck and apply.

In the meantime you could go an renew your IR.

or

Your could renew your IR and then hope that by the time the dgca issues the renewal and the application window is still open since they havent mentioned a closing date.

You could also call Jet Airways HR and ask when the application window will close...

This is with reference to your application for the post of Trainee First Officer.

Those who havent should try again as they seemed to have fixed the error by now

Now anybody want to begin to speculate on the recruitment process
especially the following

1. Written Test
2. Group Discussion , Role playing etc
3. Interview
4. Sim test
5. Medical

If you have any info please do share it here especially those who had attended the previous assessment in August 2010.

I know that competition is really high and some people may not want to share information that they might have .
But please help out your fellow pilots and some day somebody else might do the same for you

Also more information on the following would also be welcome

Terms and Conditions

1. Cost of type rating ?
2. How long is the Bond if any ?
3. Salary paid during training and after being released on line :E
( take home pay before tax )?
4. Staff travel benefits :) ?
5. Gratuity Pay , End of service , Loss of License etc :)

All the best

HEY GUYS, the august assessment is still going on as i am left with my IPT which is scheduled next week, so recruitments are going on for so long from last exam.

Total 4 batches have been made and for 5th IPT and medicals are left.
I guess total of 90+ have been selected and last batch will also have 20+ odd pilots.
That means about 120 will be selected finally from last recruitment. A total of 2500 pilots appeared in written.

About new recruitment i guess written will happen in end feb or march.

The other thread http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far-east/423871-jet-airways-stage-2-assessment-gd.html has a lot of information about the process.

Written
It had 5 different tests each lasted around 45 minutes if i remember correctly. And there was a break of 15 minutes between tests. There were 3 Aptitude Test papers and 2 Aviation Knowledge based. The 1st aptitude test had IQ based questions. The 2nd had Multiple Answer questions which were based on imagining and folding 2-D figures to make 3-D figures and then choose the correct options. Many people messed up in this one as they thought only 1 option was correct. The 3rd paper was kind of testing English where statements were given and matching option was to be chosen. The 2 Aviation based tests had 40% of technical questions based on Aerodynmics and other basic technical subject and 40% Navigation and 20% comprised of Met,Regs and 1-2 questions on Jet engine.

Group Discussion
There were 5 rounds again in this one.You were divided in teams(4 guys each team) and then each round you had 2 teams i.e., 8 guys sitting together and doing the discussion. The topics were all based on Aviation except one round . They had a debate for sure everyday. I had it on Fly by wire. Then they had one non aviation round based on Survival in case of Air crash in Mountains/Desert/island, and you were given a list of items and you had to decide and conclude that what priority will you give to each item. Then one round was on Air crash. Where you were given and Air crash report and you had to discuss and decide what caused the Air Crash.

Interview
They asked questions mainly from Technical and Performance part and a few personal questions. The panel had 3 pilots and 1 HR manager.

IPT
They make you do it on a Fixed Base Simulator or FTD for B737-400. Generally you are asked to fly VOR approaches, holdings, published missed approach and radial intercepts . All on VOR itself. No NDBs . Very few were asked to fly ILS approach. The examiner makes you read the approach plate briefing and fly at the same time. Not to worry about how to fly a 737. Everything is on Auto Pilot. You just need to change the heading and course knobs and let your examiner know about what altitude you want and he may ask you sometimes the ROD you want. You need to have RMI knowledge so practice that. Practice on Chennai,Mumbai,Ahmedabad,Delhi for sure.

That's all i can recall right now. Will update if i remember anything later.

All the best guys!! :ok:

Pardon my random question (perhaps out of place), but what makes Jet Airways a more attractive place than Kingfisher, Spicejet, Indigo, etc. if (and a big IF) you had multiple opportunities? Just curious as to why someone would be specifically interested in Jet Airways vs. others (pros and cons).

Thanks for any insights.

The jet airways team visited IGRUA and NFTI few months ago. They were impressed by the quality of flying training they provide and of-course the ground training.......unlike in US Philippines and blah blah !!! where they start their flying just 2-3 days after getting admission, having no idea about the A B C of Aviation:=........hence this might be the reason why Jet airways invited NFTI and IGRUA cadets :ok:...Indirectly the airline needs best pilots which only these two institutes can provide :)

@planeboy 777-do you really think the standards are really good in those two schools and not in USA(the country which is baap of all the nations by all means) number in aviation, number 1 in almost everything...
and you think there standards are poorer than us...
think again man

flyygirl
19th Jan 2011, 07:27
@kool,not to defend 777 and not to by any means put down the standards of igrua and alike u and me have trained at us and cannot say anything about the best school of our nation.
but it is certain and logical that going in a ground training for a certain period is better than geting us tsa cleared and taking private ground school and flying for your solo side by!:=
yes usa does have unmatched standards but so can be the case of highly intelligent cadets and well trained and experienced staff of igrua:ok::ok:
:O

sid89
19th Jan 2011, 08:07
let us all come back to jet exam and leave the debate of who is the best aside

yes igrua is one of the best institutes for flying institute

but "one of the best" there r many other good school to and even better ,the world is huge, they r students which have come from usa uk and aus who have trained in international airports which in india is not at all possible so every place has its own advantage and its rude to say that a student for other place is not good in the aug batch of jet not all selected was from igrua or nfti, and u cant say the guys selected r not good, they r the best as per jetairways selection program

jet did no invited igrua student igrua management went to jetairways because of ai delaying campus selection and the student complained this to rahul gandhi who came there to visit his area.so first jet agreed but later were told to apply in gen and no special preference will be given to any flying school weather igrua of nfti or KLM FLIGHT ACADEMY

so let us come bace to jet exam any one knows the date i called jet office when the admit letters out they said to be accepted in jan end

Good one Planeboy 777:ok:

@koolchaos3188

Do you seriously think you FAA/phillipenes etc ppl are any match to IGRUA or RGNFTI cadets. you take 6 months to copmplete your entire CPL, whereas we spend the same time in ground school, studying from basics to ATPL level. and double this time in flight school. I have seen FAA/Phillipenes pilots who do not know the full form of AIP and CAR. FAA people might know how to fly an aircraft but IGRUA/NFTI cadets know how an aircraft flies. You seriously think you can learn all practical and theoretical aspects of flying in just 6 months in some cheap flying club in florida wearing a bermuda and a t-shirt. Think Again boy........and your high standards definitely show in your DGCA conversion results, takes most of u guys a year to clear 2 exams:ugh:, where as IGRUANS and NFTI cadets clear 6 exams and RT in max 2-3 sessions:ok:.

koolchaos3188
19th Jan 2011, 08:34
@flybywire - dude let's not fight about who is better and who is not. I didn't say IGRUA has poor standards, I just mentioned its wrong to think only IGRUA has good standards and USA doesn't. And I never flew in florida, and behaved professionally during flight and ground sessions. And FYI I cleared all three papers in single attempt. and anyways your attitude shows your so naive to think USA doesn't have any standards...
If you think this country has such great standards why haven't we perfected a bloody ENGINE...
A company like Indian Oil(Ranks 125 in Fortune 500) has to get all its Engine's from rolls royce and GE, if we have such great standards why don't we build here and buy those and save on our forex.
Our country is still considered a third world nation. So there is a long way to go to match upto the standards of USA, Canada, UK, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Israel, Australia.
So instead of telling my that USA or any other country doesn't have any standards, we should be concerned on how to improve our nation.
We should be bothered for this nation and not condemn others.

indigo will hire in april this year.

about spicejet, i would suggest better not have any hopes about them. they will never recruit in the open, certainly not for the 250hr pilots... may be if you were typed on the ng and have some solid backing, you stand to get a call from them. but other than that, they dont bother..

and i hope that people are not rushing for the dash 8 type, they will end up in a bigger mess.

Spicejet asked for Captains and Senior FO's with an ATPL and flight time and type on the Q400. There must be only a handful of Indian pilots with experience and type on the Q400 is my guess. So, they will have to hire expats (as Commanders) to fly them for a certain period and also pilots with type and no hours for the postition of FO. I am only assuming though.

Of course they (the airlines) can hire expats.

And you've answered your question yourself. The deadline would be further extended till 2015, and predictably will again get extended to 2018-20 etc and so on.

A valid RTR is required, doesn't matter if it A or P or whatever. They are concerned that you have a rtr with validity and not an expired one which renders a pilot for them grounded.
I know many people who have been selected in 2010 aug recruitment with RTR (p).
So relax.. don't panic.

@fly.low
Post admit cards !!.. I have nothing personal against you sir but i can no longer stay without asking, that are you generally this stupid or is there some special occasion today?

Whats wrong with people here?? Some of the questions and info posted here is not only moronic but also utterly mind boggling. Some people are making so much wild assumptions as to the future hiring of a particular company as if they themselves are the owners. Bunch of other are more concerned about the T&C's of a company in which they have just applied rather than concentrating on studying itself.

and post cards... wow.. this just simply blew my lid off..

Now as the answer to your question sir.. they will send electronic mails which you will need to print using a printer and take the same piece of printed paper along with yourself to your designated center of written examination.

@aviation_insider

for ur kind information sir, there is huge difference between the meaning of "MAIL" & "E-MAIL"......

n i have read many posts here in which people r using "mail" instead of "e-mail" and this thing confusing me alot.....

i am attempting jet exam 4 d first time n have no idea about their procedures......

another thing Mr.aviation_insider, i joined this site so that i can clear my doubts regarding anything(related to aviation). N i dont care, if u think that i got stupid doubts.......N btw thanx to clear my doubt

Form is closed and got to know from the sources that the Jet wants IR to be current, so i guess they won't be entertaining people with the lapsed IR and no idea about the RTR(A).

well, 1 of the reasons why most of the forms were not uploading was of Non-Current IR. And that is why evryone who didnt want to miss the oppurtunity went and got their Ir revalidated after which the new 'current' dates were accepted and the forms got uploaded without a glitch!!

So I personally doubt that statement.

Btw, ppl who r preparing for the JET xam, is CPL level aircraft knowledge on pistons along with a bit of JEt enough?
Kindly shed some light.
Thnx

cvchetan
3rd Feb 2011, 02:56
thousands of forms with lapsed IR were accepted.. the upload problem was due to error on the jetairways side.

yes it should do just fine..

3rd Feb 2011, 05:29
I got an IR on the BE-76 .. it would take sometime to get an Aussie Visa, do the recency flying.. n get my application processed by DGCA.. So its better I try my luck without it..

Effect on time & distance to PNR if FF is reduced by 3%?

Aviator4u

if u mean flight fuel by FF,then the dPNR wd dec.by same %age as FF,3% in this case and if u mean fuel flow then its opposite.cheers!!!

PROPERTY OF CP
"IF HEADWIND CHANGES TO TAILWIND OR VICE-VERSA, DIST. TO CP WILL CHANGE FROM HALF WAY POSITION BY SAME DISTANCE...."

CAN U EXPLAIN IT WID AN EXAMPLE?

bubby admit card went to the guys who applied for tr vacancy and exam is on the 11 feb for then

Radar_Contact

@fly.low

on ground ur calculated CP is 800NM for 50kts tailwind...total distance is 2000NM...bt after t/o...actual winds were 50kts HW....ur new CP is 1200NM

aadityaslg
3rd Feb 2011, 18:41
by FF- I meant fuel flow..
Should'nt it increase the distance to PNR by 3%?

D = E(OH/O+H)

if Other factors remain constant say "X"
then D = E*X

NOW E = Flight Fuel/Fuel Flow

say FF decreases by 3% therefore taking an example say 60mins endurance
from 100 lit of fuel and fuel flow of 100 lit/hr.

so 97 lit/hr consumption will give u 1.85 mins of extra E

(1.85/60)*100 = 3% increase in DPNR.

Is this correct?
