Vergognoso, inaccettabile.

Air transport: Commission authorises rescue aid for Alpi Eagles
The European Commission has today authorised rescue aid for Alpi eagles SpA, a regional air carrier based in the Veneto region of Italy. The aid consists of a € 17 million loan guarantee for the next six months so as to allow the airline to recommence flight operations.
Vice-President Antonio Tajani in charge of transport welcomed this authorisation, adding that "it will strengthen competition and sends a positive signal to the air transport sector."
After examining the rescue aid for Alpi Eagles by Italy the Commission notified and authorised it after checking that it complies with Community rules, notably:
the aid is in the form of a loan guarantees of €17 million granted at market rates;
the amount of aid is limited to what is needed to manage the company;
the Italian authorities have undertaken within six months of authorisation of the aid, to furnish the Commission with a restructuring plan for Alpi Eagles, a liquidation plan, or proof that the aid has been repaid or that the guarantee has come to an end;
the aid is also warranted on the grounds of serious social difficulties, 150 staff still work for the company (currently in administration) and its importance for the local economy has been stressed by the Italian authorities. The possibility of the aid having any adverse spill-over effects on other Member States is limited by its size, its short duration and the relatively small size of the
