that means you have no idea of the initial test at all. By saying the test content has been changed, you want to gain info from others without a single drop of sweat.

Does anyone know if Cathay is considering non-Hong Kong resident applicants?

Thanks

You NEED to have Hong Kong Residency to be able to apply for the program. Your HK ID Card number is required for the application.

Thanks, I figured that was the case. Any thoughts that that could change over time?

it used to be required HK Permanent Residency but it has been changed now only HK residency. So nothing is impossible esp policy, they are gradually changing according to all external factors. maybe in the future, they will have a cadet pilot scheme for non-nationality require like Etihad airways.

check this out http://www.etihadairways.com/etihadairways/global/en/aboutetihad/cadetpilot.htm

Personally I doubt they will open it up to Non residents any time soon. Besides, pretty much anyone who really want to apply, can, with things as they are. Hong kong residency is so easy to obtain, just come over to teach english or something, and you should have your ID within 2 months.

With regard to the aptitute test i can tell you with certainty that nothing has changed from 4 years ago as of this month.:ok:

Do any other airlines like BA, EK or whoever have this type of program as well?

No for both of them. BA close down their CPP after 9.11. And EK only hiring DEFO and direct entry Captain. SIA do have CPP for Singapore based and Hong Kong based. And Qantas http://www.qantas.com.au/info/about/employment/pilots#jump2

check them out.

EK do have a cadet program, but it's only for UAE nationals. They are actually trained at FTA with CX and KA cadets.

thanks sgsslok for the information.
by the way, I have just applied Etihad Airways Cadet Program they are opening for national free. So lets say that my dream really come true and perhaps stay in the airline for couple years and earn hours then come back and to joint DESO or DEFO in Cathay, do you think its gonna work?
Do you think is possible to transfer UAE GCAA approved commercial pilot license (aeroplane) into CAD509 ?
