I read some things along this line but can't find any details and was wondering if it's true. CX only has 3 A340-600s and they're already going away by the end of 2008? 2 to Asia X and one elsewhere.

Any official info on this anywhere?

Thanks.

Cathay's Airbus Chief Pilot was quoted as saying the 3 A340-600's would be going to a company in Hainan.

Departure dates were June, October & November 2008.

There was a notice on the ILFC website a few months back that all three of Cx's 600's were going to Hainan Airlines.

Nothing will happen.. Life goes on. Its a pilots market. A330's are waiting for drivers, right! :D :D

I believe Cathay maintains a common type rating for the -300 and -600 (A340's). In addition many Airbus crews are cross qualified for all three types and, with several A330's to be delivered, the crew will not be affected by the loss of the -600's

Which Airbus models hold a common type?
