Can anyone advise if a separate eye sight test is required for my initial PPL medical or can the doctor check your eyesight during the medical.?. I do not wear glasses.

When I went for my initial a few years ago I was asked to take evidence of a recent eye test.

...and I was briefly tested by the doctor as well - standard eye chart, near vision ruler thingy, etc. I also took my contact lens prescription with me.
