Seen on teletext that an SCY flight from FUE is due in later . . . what a/c do they have at the moment?

Think they may be using a Viking (or Finnair) MD-83 just now?

Into Manchester I assume (SCY2232)? It's an MD83.

I thought they had their operators licence suspended.
According to Jethros it says Air Cordials AOC suspended at the licence holder's request from 12 Nov 04.
The Viking MD83 has been operating for AEU recently

It operated for SCY alongside a Slovak Airlines 762 they leased in, in the summer when A300 G-SWJW went tech, I only remembering it operating once or twice, then Finnair chartered in a MD83 of their own.

SE-RDF MD 80 Viking Airlines is indead operating for Air Scandic on a sub-lease. Opearting a series of charters this week.

I thought they had no AOC??? Whats going on?

I heard a while back Menzies will handle Air Scandic when they come back in the summer, but they must of handled them this week, as we (Swissport) won't touch them as they messed us about in the summer.

Aren't the whole of next Summers charters going to be operated by Finnair aircraft & crews (2 x MD83 & 1 x B752)

All of next years flights will be operated by Finnair MD83s and 757s. Air Scandic operated on Air Cordials AOC which has now been suspeneded. Didn't need it, no aircraft on it! Air Scandic effectively a virtual airline now.

Having no AOC now how can Scandic have their own (SCY) designator. I thought these had to be applied for from ICAO through the CAA and would only be allocated to "airlines" who possessed an AOC. So how do you get an official designator without an AOC?
