Just a quick question: do the 19 400s on CX internet site include the freighters or just for passengers? It would then be 19 for pax, 5 freighters plus the 7 747-200s also for freight, for a total of 31 747s. Is this correct?
I know it says "we also have 5 for freight" but I thought it was 19 total, so I'm just checking...

19 pax & 5 freighters with a new freighter arriving in Feb.

19 x B744 pax. Four of these are to be converted to B744 Special Freighters.

5 x B744 Freighters.

7 x B742 Freighters.

1 x B744 Freighter to be delivered early 2005.

8 x B744 pax (Second hand) to be delivered between Nov 2004 and end 2006. Four of these are to be converted to B744 Special Freighters. The other four will join the pax fleet.

Total B744, B744F and B742F by 2007 = 40

Where did the last B742F come from - I thought there were only 6 before.

Lets see if I got this right; the 744F arriving in Feb is new from Boeing. Is the first SF one of the 8 used 744s that is being converted? Are all conversions being done at TAECO?

One last 74' question - is Air HK still operating B747s or are they all A300 now?

Cheers!

What makes a 744SF an SF as compared to just an F?

The SF is a converted pax aircraft where the F is a purpose built freighter.

VR-HDB,
Of the 3 B747-200 freighters that were leased to AHK by Cathay, 2 went back to CX in 2002 and the last one went back last October.

Ok, so the last one to come back from AHK is the "number 7" in the CX B742-fleet?

Got it....I think...

I guess so, I'm not in CX (Yet and hopefully!) and I'm doing the preparation too and I figure all 747-200's are with CX Freighter. The last AHK 747-200 which was painted in the AHK 'blue tail' livery was reported to have returned to CX service right away and to be painted back in it's original CX colours.

You are quite correct.
