Does anyone know if there are any AFISO positions out there which get involved with passenger aircraft, as oppose to dealing with flying club aircraft? I do accept that this is way down the pecking order to place on a 'real' controllers forum, but any help would be most appreciated! Thanks guys n gals!

The area FISOs at LATCC and Scottish deal with some off route commercial aircraft. As far as I know a lot of the Highlands and Islands airports have AFISOs.

Thanks 2 six 4, are you saying that London & Scottish Information are staffed by AFISO's? I thought they were fully qualified controllers? If they are AFISO's, how would one go about getting a job there? Thanks.

FISO'S are air traffic services assistants employed by NATS. You would need to be employed by NATS and promoted to obtain one of these posts. Prior qualification as a FISO may help in your application for a post.
