This is from an easyJet email received today announcing their new routes:-

New route Frequency Start date One-way fares starting from
London Luton - Bratislava (Slovenia) daily 8 December 2004 £22.99

Last time I checked Bratislava was the capital of Slovakia.

Whoops!:ok:

Maybe they meant Ljubljana?

no, no, no

The airports must really want easyjet to come if they are prepared to move their own city to another country!!!!

Slovenia, Slovakia, I wonder which bright spark compiled that misleading e-mail, even the local penguins are not that daft!

Ljubljana to Bratislava is about 280 miles by road by the way.

Maybe they've taken a leaf out of the Ryanair book and have re-named Ljubljana "Bratislava South?" :E

Well Bratislava is only 45 miles via motorway from Vienna and Vienna airport is a good few miles out of that city.

Just had an updated email through saying:

(And for those of you who may have received an earlier email stating that Bratislava is in Slovenia, our apologies! Don't worry - our pilots know the way!)

Well some daft idiot either cannot spell, or has never seen an atlas since the end of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. Sums up Low Cost, even their e-mail's are the same!
