Can anyone help with contact details (phone, fax, or email) for La Axarquia airfield? Contact info not in Bottlang, and the website of Real Aeroclub de Malaga is not working.

Hoping to visit in a couple of weeks.

I went there last year, very sleepy. Watch out for fence posts concealed in tall grass right next to the runway!!! If you need fuel, phone to check they will have it; they have a pump but can be broken.

It's fun descending from 8000ft over the last bit of the Sierra Nevada into LEAX, in about 5 miles.

If you buy Navbox Pro (cheap at twice the price, www.navbox.nl) you get all this with it, and I've never found a single mistake :O

That will be a nice flight...

Be aware Malaga (LEMG) itself is closed to VFR traffic Thurdays-to-Sundays inclusive at the moment, by NOTAM.

Your nearest alternate then becomes Granada, followed by Almeria, Cordoba, Seville and Jerez. You cannot fly from Spain to Gib (and vice versa), but you can from Portugal or Morocco.

Don't forget Spain requires flight plans be filed for every flight.

Have fun.
