has anyone taken their internet based cabin crew diploma? i want opinions on this if it's worth the money, or will i be better of saving those money it would cost me.

I agree save your time and your money utilise the contacts you have made on here and ask friends who are flying about the job and the technical side of it.

I agree keep your money - there is so much info on pprune and I know that crew on here will be happy to answer questions. I think that sort of money would be better invested in a language course at night school.

they say it will be easier for you to get a job because this diploma shows the airlines you are very eager to be cabin crew since you have spended a lot of money on this course.

i think it's a lot of money and it's based on the net only. no lectures or lessons with tutors!

maybe i should take your advices and spend the money on a language course?

I attended a one day course about three years ago, and paid about 89 pounds for it. It was very basic but really good fun.

I am crew now and attended an interview recently and they looked on this course as being an advantage, as I have shown interest in Cabin Crew and are eager to be crew like desemirates says! So I suppose it is a good thing but again a lot of money.

this diploma course costs around 150 pounds and there are 18 models you need to pass. each model gives a procent grade. i don't know, but they seem to be serious and are cooperating with many international airlines. still, don't know whether i should do it or not. it's so expensive!

I must say that I am in the same predicament! I have been considering taking the course myself. I have posted a similar topic and got the same response as you that questions etc can be asked on here.

My reasons for taking the course however, would be to show the airlines that I am enthusiastic I suppose!! But i think you can show enthusiasm on both the application form, and of course it should shine through at the interview. I think the course plays on the fact that it will somehow put you at an advantage - but it would only be teaching what you would learn anyway on training courses and customer service experience is more important I should think!

minkyali, that is my reason for taking the course as well. i want to show them my great interest to become cabin crew and all questions can be asked on several forums and get great answers! will you be taking it?

Hi All,

Just read with interest all the postings on this subject. I have just recently signed up for the course after doing a bit of research myself. I went to both the Emirates and EasyJet recruitment sites and looked through their online application system and found Cabin Crew Direct course as a drop down option on both systems. This reassured me enough to know that the course is recognised by these two major airlines.

I have so far completed 4 of the 18 modules and found the content to be very good and have enjoyed it.

I will let everyone know how i get on once i have completed the course and applied to their airline partners.

Having had a long hard look at what they offer my feeling is that they employ some really good sales people. I have actually researched many of the topics via a search engine such as google and received just as much info as the modules could offer.

Whilst I appreciate that a lot of hard work has gone into putting the site together, our job is actually a practical one and certainly doesn't give any idea on any individuals capabilites such as swimming with lifejackets on, fire practise, evacs and how to serve the preverbial G&T. etc etc

Save your money and let the professionals who have the equipment do a proper job for free (ryan air excepted)

Hi Crewmeal,

Its true that a lot of the information is available on the net, but i think what they are selling is the "fastrack application route with partner airlines" (to take a phrase from their site). The idea is to help you become crew and not actually do the training that you'd receive when you join.

It is obvioulsy impossible to do practical training over the net!

I'd be interested to hear from anyojne who has completed the course.

i received an email from them a few days ago. apparently it's possible to divide the course fee into five months!
