Grrr SkyEurope-Luton/Ceefax page 447!

Rumours surrounding the launch of services between Bratislava and London-Luton were heightened this week when Ceefax page 447, Luton arrivals, featured an NE arrival from Bratislava arriving at 09:20!

The rumoured 737 service has been on the cards for a while. Up to 4-5 flights weekly. Not too sure if they have Boeing jets yet though?

How did their proposed schedule arrive on Ceefax?

As the chimps say as they poor tea all over themselves at the party, "WHOOPS"!!!!!!!!!!

The Babies might have delayed, but are the Brats coming?

It was also showing on STN flight arrivals at the same time. Obviously both airports are trying to claim it. However, no mention of either LTN or STN on their website. Only London flights, at some time in the future.

Grrr

Oh dear, someone really has mucked up within London Luton!

I bet Sky Europe arrive at STN, just like FlyingFinn, Norwegian, BasiqAir and others.

Direct Flights to London and Paris from Bratislava
13.05.2003

SkyEurope Airlines opens the historically first non-stop flights from Slovakia to London and Paris

Bratislava, May 14, 2003
Today, SkyEurope Airlines, the largest regular air-carriers in Slovakia – has announced the opening of its direct connection from Bratislava to London and Paris. The historically first flight from Slovakia directly to London is scheduled for July 11 and the operation of the Paris line will be launched on August 22, 2003. Slovak travellers finally get a direct connection to those two most significant European cities.

Those new flights will provide the travellers with a comfortable travel possibility to the two most significant European cities directly from Bratislava - for an attractive price. With fares beginning at 990,- SKK (one-way, fees and taxes excluded), SkyEurope's fares are not just significantly lower compared to airlines departing from Vienna, or via Prague, but the SkyEurope ticket prices beat even the normal price of a bus-ticket. The new destinations London-Stansted and Paris-Orly will be flown with a Boeing 737-500 for 133 passengers. The aircraft will be transferred to Slovakia in June 2003.

“Our objective is to offer Slovak travellers the possibility of direct flights from Bratislava Airport to significant European cities for affordable fares” - said Christian Mandl, the CEO of SkyEurope Airlines. “With our new Boeing 737-500, we will fly to London and Paris 3 times a week, meeting our customers' needs for a direct connection from Bratislava to those destinations“.

The destination airport of SkyEurope planes will be London-Stansted and Paris-Orly, from where the passengers can easily reach the city centres of London or Paris by express-trains or busses.
