Ryanair Enter Spain
Ryanair are starting a twice daily service to Girona from Frankfurt, one of 4 new destinations from Frankfurt Hahn - all commencing in December a great time to visit the Costa Brava
FR's web site also states that they flew 1.3million pax in September a 33% increase from last year.

Has Ryanair started to operate from Frankfurt? or is it still Hahn?
Just checked their website, its still Hahn. Read this on their website too!!!
In other words, don't depend on us!

Can I book an onward flight with Ryanair?Ryanair recommend that you do not book onward flights with us. Ryanair will not be held responsible for missed connections and is not liable for any claims in respect of passengers missing an onward flight as a result of their first flight being delayed.

they'll be doing spain from stansted soon enough too. Something about spain being de-regulated => cheaper?
From TCAS' quote ryanair are only point to point so just because you _could_ get from london to spain via Hahn doesn't mean they'll hold the plane for you.

No low-cost carriers will guarantee connections (or be liable for missed connections) as indeed, they are 'point to point'....it keeps the costs down.
Calling Hahn 'Frankfurt' is indeed a bit dodgy, but Ryanair haven't yet pulled out, which suggests most people don't seem bothered, as long as the price offsets the extra distance.

For Gods sake give over with the RYANAIR did this, did that etc.
Yes we all know Hann isnt Frankfurt, Charleroi isnt Brussels, you know it we know it and most importantly the paying public know it.
The passengers know it and still travel and the airline makes money, keeps people employed, and provides jobs for new pilots, as opposed to some others that could be mentioned.
Grow up and go moan about something else its getting boring!!

Here's the definiton from their (FR's) website:
Quoted from http://www.ryanair.com/news/expansion_hahn.html
Lufthansa has tried to prevent Ryanair from comparing its services from Frankfurt-Hahn with Lufthansa’s services from Frankfurt-Main by forcing Ryanair to point out the following “disadvantages” of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport: Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is located approximately 124 km west of Frankfurt City in the Hunsrueck region. The airport is not connected to the public transportation system (however, it is served by a regular bus shuttle from Frankfurt-Main central station). The airport is accessible to the Autobahn via the B50. Ryanair does not offer connecting flights, and there are no other connecting flights at the airport. A bus schedule and directions to the airport are available at www.Ryanair.com. However, despite these “disadvantages” over 2 million passengers have used Frankfurt-Hahn Airport without problems finding or accessing the airport.

I note no-one has posted anything about airports served by Ryanair, which are actually nearer the quoted city.
Take Rome, where Ryanair use CIA - 10 miles, instead of FCO - 22 miles. Now before anyone starts talking about direct rail links etc, I know that there are none to CIA!

"No low-cost carriers will guarantee connections (or be liable for missed connections) as indeed, they are 'point to point'....it keeps the costs down"..very true, but as we all know...many full service carriers DO guarantee connections...then miss them
Now for the flak...

Flame - But at least if the full fare carrier offers a connection and then misses it they look after you (after a fashion). They get you on the next flight and if that's the next day they put you up in a hotel, unlike the low cost operators who say tough titties, buy another ticket on the next plane, and by the way the fare is now more than the full fare carrier because you're booking at the last minute.
I've also been caught out when travelling with FR, and I'm sure the other low cost operators are the same, the flight that I was booked on was cancelled about 30 mins prior to departure, only to be told to go away and come back tomorrow morning
. That one really pi**ed me off!

Get you facts right if you are going to argue. If you have to be put onto the next flight either the next day or in an hours time due to a missed connection you will not have to pay a higher fare you will be transfered and not pay a penny. The low cost airlines are point to point and that is clearly stated!!
Sure if you miss the flight for some reason or it doesnt go you are not put up in a hotel. Does British Rail or the bus company put you up for the night? I dont think so!!
When you buy a no frills ticket thats what you get and you KNOW THAT!! If thats not what you want go elswhere and buy a full fare ticket at 10x the price think of the extra as an insurance policy. The extra will have more than paid for the offchance of a room for the night due to a missed flight.
I am sick of all this bikering from from people who have nothing better to do.
