If they start somewhere in central Scotland they could take Loganair to the cleaners, on price anyway.

Follow this link, and you’ll see Derry / Londonderry LDY is selectable from the drop down box on the right side of the page. The likes of Barra and the other airports present on the worldwide tab, do not appear here. It’s not visible on the app yet either, just the website.

Yep, it's on the dropdown list but not the actual route map. See what happens. Still think it might be a technicality to do with the 'worldwide' side of things.

Maybe put 2+2 together and get 4? LDY appears on the EZY booking system. Flightrider posts here, minutes later the excellent Sean M posts their cryptic post about a new EZY city. Whilst I would have been utterly sceptical 24 hours ago about such a development, evidence since would suggest otherwise. And I’m delighted.

EMA has also popped up on the EasyJet website. I think that’s more of a candidate than LDY.

From what I'm aware all of EDI's based units are fully used apart from Wednesdays.

GLA has a 3 hour gap on a Monday and Friday from what I can see.

Given EZY launched GLA-SOU they won't think twice that LM operate the route.

That said, they can very easily just swap a Belfast rotation at EDI to support a potential LDY route.

I wouldn't put it past them as it does seem that easyJet have a bit of a habit of going after LM, although they weren't so successful on the ABZ-MAN route in the past.

There are summer seasonal charters offered from LDY to PMI [Air Nostrum] and FAO [BA CityFlyer], which are currently sold as package holidays by Travel Solutions; I wonder if easyJet might consider doing twice-daily LDY-GLA-LDY rotations and then offer PMI and FAO return flights in between these on different days of the week using easyJet Holidays, perhaps even adding AGP and/or ALC into the mix as well...?!

EMA is still on the website from when they were operating BFS - it isn't a new appearance.

Double-daily GLA-LDY with an A319 or A320 would be a huge amount of capacity. If they wanted to fly LDY-sun then surely they'd just use the resort-based aircraft as they do into BHD, SOU etc.

There is a gap on Mondays and Fridays once you go past the first week of the season.

As I said, watch out for what happens next.

I don’t think a daily EDI/GLA-LDY and LPL-LDY is that outlandish. FR flew daily to LDY from numerous points in England/Scotland previously with a 189 config 738, and maintain frequent flights to MAN and BHX. I also think EZY may want to launch a London route but due to PSO legislation, that may not be so simple. We will have to wait and see.

I'd love to see easyJet give City of Derry Airport/ LDY a shot. However, for various reasons including that Ryanair gave up on most of it and how it tends to be rick bottom prices often, right up to the day before travel, I'm struggling to see how you'd get them interested.

However, I think if they are getting closer to tour operators, I wouldn't rule out a summer only sun tour to say PMI/ ALC where they have bases. A bit of a long shot but May -Sep totally doable on say X2/3 weekly.

The easyJet rumours could be a GVA-EMA or MME-GVA, routes that Ryanair are unlikely to do. Hard to think where the other new point could be.

If easyJet had a London route, quite sure it would do well, but like a previous poster has said once LM has PSO, unlikely anything will happen.

So why has Derry appeared on their website as a destination? I doubt it’s just for the craic.

As recently as 2016, LDY-GLA/LPL had in excess of 7000/month with FR. Then something happened which made it tricky for an Irish airline to fly U.K. domestic routes. As said above: let’s see what happens.

That's what I thought, but LDY doesn't appear on Worldwide by easyJet booking site. I remember Loganair was a partner (thinking LDY-GLA then easyJet connections) but this no longer seems to be the case.

I’ve heard from two separate people now that EZY are planning a few domestic routes from the autumn. Announcement either this week, or early next month.

You were right, I was wrong, my apologies, hadn't updated my easyJet notes in a while
