It is clear more long haul routes are on the cards whether it be a Chinese route (very very possible given Hainan are now at 4x week), additional North American routes (my money is on AA) or some others such as Singapore (which has been a strong rumour probably as a tag-on) or Ethiopian (again another strong rumour).

It you read the recent articles posted above, the management are very confident of further growth but have acknowledged that more capacity is needed in the terminal and via new additional stands.

There are a lot of people from across the world that want to visit Edinburgh and Scotland; in addition to EDI being best placed to serve to growing population of Central Scotland and further afield.

EK have pushed back introduction of A359 to November. As it stands, EDI still listed as commencing 4th November. All could change though. Quite possible they may start with a 773.

Turkish deploying a 773 on tomorrow’s service. First time 773 service to/from EDI. They will also use a 332 on Tuesday 9th July.

It would appear that EDI could be the launch route for EK’s A359. Although subject to change, this could be quite a PR opportunity for the airport. The av geeks could be heading EDI’s way in their droves.

I think it's a bit smaller than an "outcry" on Twitter.

It will certainly increase coverage of the route restarting. Route recommencement and new aircraft type inauguration on the same day.

The A350 begins on DXB-EDI on 4th November and is then added to DXB-BAH and DXB-KWI on 15th November. It won’t appear on other routes until January 1st when it operates to BOM and AMD with CMB on January 2nd.
