In addition to, VS remains daily.

I can't see VS withdrawing a long-standing and well performing route like LHR to Orlando. Or VS even handing over LHR to MCO to Delta on a permanent basis.

Although I must admit that this announcement has taken me by surprise.

Delta have been expanding Florida to Europe flights recently with MCO-AMS and the upcoming seasonal flight between TPA and AMS.

On aside note....Delta previously but very briefly operated LGW to MCO during the very early 1990s, with a L10-11 Tristar.

from the news:

Thousands of British Airways passengers are waiting for their luggage to be delivered after the latest systems failure at a major UK airport.

On Tuesday afternoon and evening BA’s allocation system – which covers everything from aircraft stands to baggage handling – failed at London Heathrow Terminal 5.

I flew on this! It was not non-stop, it went via Miami in both directions but MCO pax stayed on board. Immigration was cleared at MCO. It was memorable for how few of us got on/off in Orlando, no more than about 20 both directions. The bulk of people were for Miami but even then the flights were a third full at best. Delta were probably Orlando’s biggest airline but I don’t think it was a hub. I’m not sure they had much connectivity at MIA either.

Delta don't seem to know what to do at LHR, they're a distant third vs. American and United. LAX was dropped again and SEA isn't seeing high loads. JFK remains only 2x daily, one of which is a B764. The market prefers Virgin it seems, even on routes where they co-habit. 4 weekly to the House of Mouse is an interesting tangent given the route is mainly UK based POS (is that still the case?) and would likely bias towards VS bookings.

Have Tarom sold their slots then?

This article (paywall) - https://www.ch-aviation.com/news/141...w-slots-report suggests they have.
or https://boardingpass.ro/tarom-renunt...ctombrie-2024/ (in Romanian)

Also no flights to/from Heathrow are available on Taroms website after 26th October.

Will they bother coming back to the UK, considering LTN,STN and LGW have several flights a day. Maybe LGW as its only 1 flight a day with Wizz?

Edit - I know this was dismissed in February this year, as per previous posts.

Tarom have used LTN in the past https://aviationweek.com/air-transpo...london-gateway as did Blue Air.
I'm sure they would be welcomed back. W24 slots should be available and figures crossed for S25 if LTN goes to 19m.

I was half joking about LTN but looking at the Tarom booking engine, Luton is listed!
