Flew out of Bfs last Monday on an mid-afternoon flight to Turkey. Airport was busy for a Monday afternoon at the start of June, July and August will be interesting.
Tried to access the lounge but it was full. In the few minutes I was there, several other couples were also turned away. As the airport grows, what will they do here to increase capacity? Turning pax away is lost income to the airport as well as the lounge operator. If Bfs ever managed to attract a carrier with a business class, Bfs has no space for those pax, short of closing the lounge for them.

Whilst the new routes are great to have, I just wish they would stop their efforts to destroy the Lgw route. The winter schedule is very poor and numbers for 2023 were down on the previous year. This on a route that supported 7 flights a day most days for years. Are they running it down so that it can be concentrated at Bhd?

Last year they cancelled two flights for me to BFS and ended up having to fly to BHD and then taxi to BFS to pick up my car
Looks like a couple of EZY reductions on domestics particularly BRS and LPL over winter. BRS showing just 3x Monday and 2x daily Tue-Thu in March 25 now.
I wonder if the strategy going forward will be to point more domestics towards BHD and free-up BFS for longer Intl growth. Would kinda make sense apart from having domestic frequencies on some routes split across both airports which isn't so ideal for all.

1. They don't need to transfer domestic traffic to BHD to facilitate international growth at Bfs. Bfs has plenty of room for growth.
2. Bhd couldn't handle the level of domestic traffic that goes through Bfs.
3. Splitting services over 2 airports is a destroyer as neither airport gets a good service. It isn't exactly ideal to leave your car at Bfs having departed from there and return to Bhd. How to you get to your car, especially if a late arrival? I know there is public transport but not exactly ideal.
So what is Ezy trying to achieve? Are they huffing with Bfs over the return of FR or is it a spoiler towards EI Regional?
What they will achieve is open the door for bigger FR presence.

Planes are mobile, bricks and concrete are not. Eternal constrain for most airports, unless you have scale and consumer demand for your airport that makes replacement of lost business easy.

Realistically, 3-4 daily rotations gives a good enough choice on any route. The 6-7 daily frequencies many have been used to over the years to some extent has given a spoilt choice because the capacity takes precedence above the frequency at that point. If that now means the new normal is 3-4 daily from BFS and 2 daily BHD then that meets both those requirements from an EZY perspective.

And the result, neither airport now has a really good schedule. Remember Ezy made much of going after business pax. What good is 2 flights a day, especially if the second flight is in the afternoon?

Being marketed as winter services. I've only ever known U2 to operate PRG over winter. The other two I actually can't remember U2 ever flying from BFS but I'm not 100% on that, one article states they haven't operated RAK since before COVID.
Ultimately we'll see how well they do, probably all good money spinners keeping aircraft busy and profitable.
