If it was for away based Aircraft slots during the day that would blow the 18M cap currently.
Maybe they hoped 19M would have been approved by now.
I think exactly that, if 19M was available why wait for Easy & Wizz to mop the slots up.
2025 could be interesting in what ACL allows.........

Taxiway Foxtrot used again as BizJet parking overflow, even before NOTAM kicks in.
Is business that good at the FBOs currently?

Late running Dan Air tonight, that will cost them having to use a night slot!

And I hear EZY are very upset at this, being LGW biggest operator they are always the most affected, as are their customers and on time statistics which some take to heart.
This could mean with their next expansion mode, other airports gaining more in preference to LGW.
Don't be surprised if some other bases get a much bigger footprint.

This is not a surprise as Easyjet are losing slots rapidly at Gatwick anyway. Taken from the Easyjet thread...

"Next year's reduction to BA Euroflyer is three based aircraft's-worth of slots, with the final two aircraft's-worth due back at the start of Summer 2026."

That is five aircraft in the next two years that have to go somewhere, and then there are the slots leased from Virgin.

Most of the additional 1m could be swallowed up with bigger aircraft. An opportunity for EasyJet’s new Southend base or even Southampton at a pinch where there are no slot restrictions.

Airport update

The Dart is proving to be a success but is suffering from overcrowding, just like the buses the Dart replaced, but is still a far better experience.

The first of two temporary replacement drop off areas has opened. In typical Luton style, for that quality airport feel, it is confirmed as having a gravel kerbside.

Barriers don’t stop people waiting to be picked up outside the dedicated areas.

On a warm day it is a long slog to the terminal but still better than walking in the rain.

The walk is longer now, as there is a diversion through the original MSCP2 road crossing point.

The CTA road has been rerouted

Work continues on the second premium drop off area

Now wonder the Dart is successful for £5 (or there about) I didn't drag my case to the drop off/collection point but did it with ease to Kimpton Rd to be collected.

Anyone over state pension age can book free tickets via the concession page or half price for locals.

For those interested more F1 related traffic tomorrow night Corredon 737; Monday Correndon A320 and BACityflyer E190. British Grand Prix on 7th July so more expected. All classed as private flights.

During the rebuilding - can you drop folks off at the railway station - so that they can use the Dart up the hill?

Yes at a cost of £4.90 per passenger. From the main railway station side just show the Dart ticket to cross the railway tracks or buy a ticket there.

From the Dart side the drop off is in Kimpton Road then it is a 100m walk as there is no access to the Dart forecourt. Don’t forget the free travel if registered for state pensioners but passengers have to apply before travel.

Could Tarom be coming back to Luton? As reported elsewhere they appear to have sold their slots at LHR. Luton now appears in their booking engine if done through a mobile but not on a PC, but do not seem to be able to book anything yet.
Don't they currently fly their A318 into LHR?
I believe they have recently signed to lease two Max aircraft though.
