That's OK...no need thanks....It seems as expected STN also did pretty well on the Biz Jet front (including a large contingent of Brazilian machines!)...

Universal Studios

3rd of visitors from abroad via Luton Airport

Universal, which expects about one-third of visits to come from overseas via Luton airport, is working with the Department for Transport on potential requirements for railway stations at the resort, and roads from the nearby motorway.

The road has reopened as the chaos has moved to the normal location up the hill.

Destruction/Construction update

The fire damaged multi story is no more

The premium drop off area is still weeks from completion.

would make a nice spot for a few aircraft stands, and stick a new Multi storey down the hill somewhere.

Or better drop-off zone and departures sub Satellite complex for South & East stands.
Extend the DART to where it might go for T2 and build those Car Parks. Keep cash for Car Parks to pay off DART.

The multi story also contains the drop off area but as passengers are getting used to a 10 to 15 minute walk in the rain another extra 10 to 15 minute walk would aid fitness levels even more and filter out the unhealthy and needy.

Except car park cash goes to the operator (£82m profit) as a nice little earner while the Dart costs go to LRT ( £204m losses for the last financial year).

I was wondering where that info had come when I read it but to be clear there is nothing on site.

Some of the industry’s biggest names will be vying for the job awarded under the Crown Commercial Service Construction Works and Associated Services framework.
So why is the Crown involved? So who is really footing the bill?

About Crown Commercial Service (CCS)

CCS plays an important role helping the UK public sector save money when buying common goods and services.

We are the biggest public procurement organisation in the UK. We use our commercial expertise to help buyers in central government and across the public and third sectors to purchase everything from locum doctors and laptops to police cars and electricity.

The collective purchasing power of our customers, plus our procurement knowledge, means we can get the best commercial deals in the interests of taxpayers.
Nothing to do with the govt paying

So it looks like the Council is paying for it. So how does that work when the whole point of the concession was that they didn’t pay a thing. Another example is the funding of the new restaurant and seating area in departures. Can we add the new apron that has opened a few months ago? Oh and there was also the Dart.

Yes they were but the authorities have reinstated the 100ml limit nationwide. Also I notice that the Wizz to Tromso flights are going five weekly this winter.

ACL W24 Initial Coordination Report is out.

If I am reading it correctly Demand from EasyJet and Ryanair of over 4700 slots were not allocated (3640 from FR alone)

I thought the airport and terminal was uncomfortably busy today not helped by the trek to the drop off for those heaving suitcases. Epic queues to get to the airport at peak times doesn’t help.

The new temporary additional drop off area seems weeks away from completion.

The last of the scrap metal and concrete from MSCP2 has now been cleared away.
