LTNman, thanks for the update.
The strip that is finished will at least allow Delta to open at the end of the month but that road layout is bizarre to say the least.

Taken from a different height, this photo just shows a filter lane to merger the service road. As the ring road will be wider at this point is there enough room for the proposed pier or has that been dropped, as space was already tight?

Thanks for the update, does look like Delta could be back in service ontime, even if the new stands are not ready themselves.

New Istanbul Route

Starting 28th March Wizz Air will be flying daily between LTN and Istanbul's main new airport.

Very welcomed and nice addition to the route network, which has come and gone over recent years.

LTN 06:55 ---> IST 12:40
IST 13:15 ---> LTN 15:10

All operated on the A321neo.

(Think it has previously been tried by easyJet, AtlasJet and Onur Air)

Didn't they try and setup a joint venture in Turkey before? A massive market they will want to expand quickly if they can.

As for Parkway, the 12 week construction of the forecourt is now on week 28. All very strange. As there is hardly any progress it was not worthy of an updated photo.
At a Council meeting yesterday the forecourt completion date is now given as March. The principal reason for the delay is that the final design has only just been agreed despite having 4 years to think about it. The forecourt will include a taxi tank and an area for a Dart replacement coach service for when it breaks down.

Well done the Council for having the foresight to mitigate any problems should they arise.

It really is a shambles. And yet they’re still running a social media PR campaign… the latest being “you could be lucky enough to be a passenger in the test phase”. It’s pathetic.

Shambles is an excellent word to sum up what is happening. Ticketing seems to have been an afterthought and should have been first looked at 4 years ago not at the eleventh hour. They might be on a countdown but it means nothing.

Listen from 34 minutes and 20 seconds. After the report about the Dart one of the councillors starts asking questions about the cost when the monitoring officer reminds the committee that the actual cost is a secret and that the council taxpayer must not know. I am sure if it was under budget there would be no secrecy.

LBC don't have the money to keep the library theatre going so are closing it. Funny how they find cash for other things but not for a bit of culture in the town.

Perhaps they could offer the DART station as a new venue? Not like much else is happening in there anytime soon.

Another RYR STN diversion from Riga came in. A late Lauda went to EMA, by that time the full signs would have been up.
