Yeah, I read that but until new routes are announced, I think it’s likely to be closer:
Reduced Turkey schedule
Reduced Bulgaria schedule
1 fewer Alicante p/w in Nov and Dec
Eastern impact on KLM unknown as yet.
Lower Aberdeen in Jan - March
Offset by known upsides:
Bigger aircraft & 1 extra weekend AMS
Slightly longer Corfu schedule
1 extra Alicante in Jan - March
Barring new announcements, I think the movement between 23 and 24 will be small; potentially negative.

P330, I think with the increase in Amsterdam numbers seen so far this year and increased flights over the Eastern wet lease period will see numbers increased by some amount. So even with reduced Aberdeen and Burgas flights and the July gap on Dalaman. Numbers will still be up over the year. I am reckoning hitting through the 250k barrier will be seen, if not very close to it.
Rough count of seating capacity flown in April 24,714, haven't counted the Hercules flights.

Yes, the Mayor made a big event of it on his Facebook post, he answered one request for Málaga flight by saying..........We're on it. I promised to deliver it in the next 4 years but hoping it will be much sooner than this.
I not sure that was what people want to hear.....but it was just a reply to a question, so most will have missed it. And other replies to both Tenerife and Malaga were.... we're working on it, so not "soon" then, disappointing to those who anticipated these flights within months.

Well Ben used enough government money to grab it from Newcastle, bit more on overtime nothing when it comes from UK taxes!!
It arrived ten minutes late and departed 25 minutes late. There were other arrivals and departure after it had left as Draken were out til after 11pm.
Looks like the routing is:
Paris - East Midlands - Edinburgh - Teesside - Paris.
Tuesday & Wednesday they have come in on time.

Manchester has 5 flights a week using the ATR.
So if judging by what SPD has put and saying they are just swapping operations around in that it is just switched around.
Could this mean Teesside gains in reality if it just becomes a Paris - Teesside non stop flight without a stopping off en route and sits at Teesside all day.
With the 737 we are looking at about 4,623 Tonnes capacity per year on the four flights a week. (11 Tonnes per flight)
If we get a 5 day non stop operation with the ATR then we get a slight increase in capacity of 4,734 Tonnes per year. (9.2 Tonnes per flight)
So looking at the sums I don't think Teesside loses out overall with the 737 - ATR switch, but have gains in some ways.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Any gain in capacity would be theoretical, these FedEx flights never get anywhere near their weight capacity - that isn't their game. At a guess this is more to do with parking, moving MAN to a transiting flight rather than a day-stopper frees up a stand

The BBC just reported that the liquid over 100ml carry on rule is being reinstated from midnight tonight, (ie 00:01 Sun 09th June), at Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, London City, Aberdeen, Southend and Teesside Regional Airports.
