Loganair Twin Otter

Are Loganair using all three of their Otters or is one a back up? Apart from Barra, what other routes do they do and are they used for freight atall? Thanks

I believe they're used for Barra, Campbeltown and Tiree. AFAIK G-BVVK is used as a standby aircraft.

BRR-BEB was canned in 2012 IIRC when the Western Isles Council (can't spell/pronounce the proper Gaelic name) pulled the funding for it as like most other local councils they were (are) skint.

The Twotters are based at Glasgow and are used for the daily Barra, Campbeltown and Tiree schedules. The aircraft are actually owned by Highlands & Islands Airports Ltd (i.e. the Government), not Loganair; Loganair is a contractor providing the PSO for these routes which means if Loganair ever lost it the new operator would get the Twotters...

The SAABs are all owned by Loganair though.

I thought they actually hung a little placard below the "Operated by" wording.
Captain Oveur, etc..... :-)

Wonder why 'Loganair' isn't added to this?

I suspect the paint was barely dry on the airframe when that picture was taken.

Interesting livery.
