If the Regional air route development fund is a joint application between airport and air carrier, and if the other two routes for which LinksAir applied for funding are still in the running...could it be possible to surmise that it "might" have been the DTV Airport management who were the ones to have pulled support for the application??
I thought it didn't get through the assessment for Government funding - which isn't the same as being pulled.
Nothing stopping LinksAir and DTVA launching the route with their own money.

Peel boss supports northern powerhouse
Been on a cruise but nothing much happening?
In the press the Peel boss supports the powerhouse and writes to the government. New plans to be published in 2016.
Will it be another Master plan?

Fuel
The airport have taken fuel in-house, and are soon to raise the price by 30p per litre, which I believe puts them around mid-table when compared with other UK airports and airfields (so not by any means expensive, but previously, they were one of the cheapest).
Naturally, this has caused a bit of worry amongst GA at the airport, with a couple of operators anticipating an additional expense in the lower five-figure region!! Given how delicate aviation can be, it's not hard to imagine a scenario where such an expense could threaten the viability of a business.
I think other north-east airfields may now be more competitive, and when you're uplifting 200+ litres at a time, it makes sense to make a purpose flight elsewhere just for fuel, so any gain in profit the airport hoped to make is already gone!
With oil prices still generally decreasing, and the mandatory handling still being in place, this has the potential to undermine all the good work the airport has done over the last year to improve GA at the airport!!

I do wonder whether somewhere buried in legal paperwork somewhere there is a clause similar to that Sutton Harbour had with Plymouth that would allow them to cease passenger operations if certain conditions pertained over a given period of time. A total lack of any apparent effort into aviation development at MME really would lead you to believe they're actually now trying to run the place down?!
Losses have reduced by half as per the masterplan, GA has improved significantly over the last 18 months, certainly to the best levels under Peels ownership, we have a solid masterplan which a couple of other airports appear to have taken inspiration from. Okay, this is not *improving* per se, but let's make it clear things are not getting any 'worse' for lack of a better word. Could we even get any worse short of closure? We're in a much better place now than a year ago, even though it's none too obvious to Joe Public.

To an extent, then the Peel Group are able to have a large influence on the airports published accounts.
Would appreciate please if you could qualify this statement.
