Well TonyQ, at least my response got an update on the story, thanks for that. I'd checked the headlines on both that site, and Manx Radio's news site, neither were running the story, obviously not exciting enough for them. Well done to the Crew of the J41, I used to operate the J41 and it wasn't one of the easiest on one engine, not that I ever had to in anger, only in the sim thank goodness!

Seems not a lot going on on the Isle . The day before a J61 came in with engine problems as well, (just to keep the talks going.) But indeed the J41 came in with it's engine feathered, I happened to actually see it, so I can confirm, it was a pretty well managed event despite the windy conditions.
Good job.

J61?, ATP Gti I seem to remember which never entered service.
Hopefully it was just the prop that was feathered and not the engine - that would be a sight to behold .
The J41 in question was seen to by the Flybe engineers and was back in service later in the day.

yes, can you imagine the engine feathered as well as the prop! Good one!
However I thought someone would fall for the J61-catch. Yes, for some unknown reason this number got taken over and is now the official denominator of the BAe ATP. It's on the aircrew's licence, the AFM, the Airplane's Type Plate etc. Why, I guess nobody can explain. I even asked BAe. But again, very observant.

The Jetstream 61 was quite an updated ATP that NEVER enetered service. One prototype built and one green aircraft completed and scrapped. It wasn't an ATP.......

Still agree, this is exactly why it is so funny that the official denominator of the BAe ATP's, the exact planes which get maintained at EAM for example is ...Jetstream J61. Have a look YOURSELF in the plane's papers and be surprised.
But, then again, it doesn't stop the world from turning either.

Not that it matters too much. An ATP is an ATP, might be a J61 but who knows. The insides don't look much like an ATPs anymore, so something different is probably appropriate as they are freighters.
I mean, an ATP had steps, slides and somewhere to make your tea....
:-)
I don't think an S34B can get to all those places in one day btw. It is fast, but not that fast!

Looks like a Glasgow Saab with crew overnighting on the rock rather than an proper IOM base. Overnight machine operates 0810 to BEL, 1010 to BLK then on to GLA at 1220. Second unit comes in from GLA to operate BLK at 1420, BEL at 1620 and off to bed at 1800. The middle BEL is on a Belfast originating aircraft (leaves BEL at 1235 and gets back at 1435) - timetable says its Loganair rather than Flybe, what else do Logie do in BEL?
How has this gone down on the IOM - are Logan being welcomed or seen as big bro chasing flybes competition away?

If you care to read some of the previous say half dozen pages of this thread you'll see that the Manx2 supporters club are crying foul, and the FlyBe supporters say otherwise. Flights start in May. Only load factor will tell whether the locals like it or not.

Loganair do DND-BHD which arrives at 12:25 (date checked was 15/05) so the above sounds plausible with a bit of tweaking.
DND as far as I am aware is a Loganair base and they operate BHD & BHX from there.
DND-IOM isn't in the Flybe booking engine (yet) as a connection I would expect it to if this is what is to happen.
From looking at a few dates in May it would also appear that the DND-BHD doesn't run on a Wednesday and has different timings on a Tuesday.

Rumour that the Logey S340 will be used for IOM DUB single daily from July which is why DND-BHD aircraft is being brought in for middle BHD rotation insted of using the based aircraft

I was reviewing the timetable of Loganair on BHD IOM BHD. As far as I can see Manx2 have offered this route on a plate to Loganair. The Manx2 timings are awful especially when compared to the thrice daily business orientated schedule of Loganair. Manx2 could have survived this route given that they had frequency and built their reputation up in the market. Having aircraft under 19 seats meant that they could avoid the additional taxes imposed by government.
Loganair dont have a reputation for squeezing out the competition or indeed coming in to challenge them. Clearly a flybe influence at work here!
Best of luck to Manx2....
