Cannot imagine there is enough high yield traffic out of LCY for BA to operate to the IOM unless it is something to do with an RBS contract.
It would be a pity from my point of view as VLM are streets ahead in service and I would prefer them to expand their service to the IOM if EMX disappear.

Very intresting news for 2008..... Lets just say that there will soon be the logo of the Big Orange ones in IOM.
As for the rumours of MAN and LPL being operated by BE crews from those bases they are all false. The exception being that the occasional MAN rotation operates in reverse as the THREE IOM based A/C will be on other routes

IMO it would be an absolute disaster if they came to the IOM. There is not enough traffic for them and others to survive and we need more than one rotation to LTN/LPL a day.
I would have thought the IOM charges would keep them out but you never know with the genius's we have in government, anything is possible

easyjet would not be interested in the iom, euromanx have real problems filling an atr, never mind a 156 seater. plus the weather in the iom is very hit and miss, especially the wind, wouldnt like to do a circle to land on 21 with a 319! - was bad enough in a J41
will euromanx still be around in 2008 along with eastern?

What we need is a clever operator on the LPL route with flight times to connect with the morning wave of early Easyjet departures. I'm a regular traveller to Lisbon and the morning LPL - LIS route would perfect for me....if check in didnt close before the first flight from IOM lands!

Astraeus Flight AUE771
Afternoon all. FLight IOM-Ljubljana can anyone confirm this? On the arrivals board at Ljubljana as "Isle of Ma" assume Isle of Man, landed at 1400 local time.
Cheers.
Cheers.
November traffic
November numbers are on the airport website :-
http://www.iom-airport.com/news/view...nairport23.xml
An overall increase compared to November 2006, albeit a modest one at 1% - the first month since (I think) June that we have seen an increase versus the 2006 figures.
Quite a few good news stories for various operators and routes - nothing too spectacular, but movement in the right direction.
MAN, up 8%, has turned around after several months in the doldrums, presumably due to more and cheaper seats from FlyBE on the route. They have 62% of this route now, after several months when they were more or less neck and neck with EMX. This appears to be at the expense of LPL where EMX fares are still too high.
All round, a more positive end to the year for the new Director. Hopefully 2008 will bring more good news as all those extra FlyBE seats come on line.

I have to thank you, yet again, for your taking the time to post your hypothetical interpretations of the airport passenger statistics that are, true to form, largely meaningless and devoid of any detailed fact from which valid conclusions can actually be drawn. You're not an accountant, are you?

S E............not sure quite what your problem is, but rest assured, I won't be put off from making the occasional posting by your apparent vendetta !
.....and no, I'm not an accountant. Are you an apologist for EMX ?

I think the figures show that air transport from the Island contines to struggle. With the rise in fuel prices ticket prices will have to increase.
euromanx currently offering £19 seats
flybe currently offering £18.99 seats
all recently reduced to these low levels due to competition, rising prices have been due to lack of competition imo
i understand profits and companies arent charities. but lower fares will encourage people to travel more often, higher fares encourage people to travel less. but in iom operators seem to be happy flying planes with decreasing pax numbers. i know people who wont pay £50 single on principle. but they would be will to pay £25 3 times. strange but true. thats the psychology of people.

Well its about 3 hours continuous flying because there is a 20 min turnaround at NQY.
Its marketed towards the charter market so it doesn't really matter about the type of aircraft, as long as its a new route and you can fly from IOM.
