No way jos€
No way will Euros be able to maintain theyre current schedule or pricing in light of BE onslaught. 3x78 seater rotations = doubled capacity on the route. No illusions here, this is war and the first man to blink is dead so Euros will have to follow BE prices down and best they can dpo is to cut to 3 rotations and match the BE frequency . Itll hurt them but BE still have 100m of BA money to burn....

I'm sure that the £110m you are on about will be sat nicely in a Brazilian bank belonging to Embraer at this very moment in time. All those BACON a/c need replacing!
Interesting times ahead...

19 pound ! so 3w do have fares under 200.00 then !
shame these cheap fares couldnt of been used earlier instead of being greedy !
good luck FlyBe, if they encourage lower fares to IOM residents from other airlines why not !
doubt BE will effect M2 that much as they have offered good value fares all year round and have a cracking customer base, maybe if 3w had done this BE wouldnt of looked at LPL

Yes it is a bit of the case of shutting the stable door etc. To be fair though even if they had offered the fares before I think Flybe would have taken them on. EMX are always perceived as fragile and probably are. Generally in battles like this, the deepest pockets wins.
It is a pity as their product is pretty good. However all my flights to Man in the coming months are with Flybe, why?, because in every case they were substantially cheaper and they allow online check in which saves time. Just have to carry a big book to read at the airport

Snappy Bits - your source is quite incorrect. The MAN and LPL (and all other routes for that matter) will be flown by local crews with support as and when required from the bases in the UK .
Ask your source how many IOM based crews operate the LPL service for Euromanx.

Capt. Horrendous is indeed correct. I work around the BE crews everyday. There are 1 or 2 cabin crew from the UK every now and then, but the rest are from the IOM. There is no shortage of captains on the island, as all of them were either on the 146/145. There is a slight shortage in based FO's though, which is where the UK bases come in.
All in all thou, everyone involved is doing a great job, which ever base they are from. Keep up the gd work

Flybe have 12 IOM based Captains and 10 F/Os.
If you count standby, they'll need about 3 F/os and 1 Captain over at any one time, but if the route sells well, they'll probably decide to crew locally by then, and as there's still a queue of (Ex Manx Airlines vintage)Captains waiting to come back home that won't be a problem either.
F/Os? Couple of eastern or EMX F/Os may fancy a bit more safety in their choice of work, one has already.

Anotherflapoperator, what do you mean when you say;

Are you telling everyone that EMX a/c are unsafe? Any comments from the crews themselves?

BA CityFlyer have requested three daily pairs of LCY slots (0810/0840 turn, 1325/1355 turn and 1820/1855 turn on an RJ85).
It could, of course, be for an ABZ or something...but who'd like to bet they might be lining themselves up to take on the IOM??

I don't mean to burst the bubble, but could it be BLK? The airport says it is in final talks with an airline (noting cemented yet) but expects flights to return by March. Could this be coincidental or would BLK be looking at the locos more?
I know it's abit far fetched but out of LGW/STN/LTN/LCY, which airports have received slot applications for these times (business times).
Please reply. I would love to hear your views.
