ISLE OF MAN
As I think I have said before, I am a regular user of the late night EZY856 IOM-LGW.
The parking arrangements when arriving at LGW seem to vary, and I suspect the main driver is, whatever is planned for the aircraft the following morning. So you could end up at either North or South terminal, at a domestic or 'international' gate or on a remote stand. These variables, and the bus ride itself, are irritating when it is already late evening, and the flight has usually run 20-30 minutes late.
Personally, I don't think it is acceptable for the (sometimes) only flight of the day from IOM to be arriving at a time when passengers will struggle to reach Central London, before midnight. However, easyJet are calling the shots here and the IOM authorities appear either powerless, or disinclined, to exercise any form leverage. The winter schedule does look a little better.
IOMX - you again make a stout appeal on behalf of the IOM-LCY service with your illustrative fares, and I accept that there will be occasions where it offers an attractive option. However, the bottom line is, that on the whole, it is significantly more expensive that many people can afford/are prepared to pay.

Although the late arrival in to LGW is not ideal, rest assured that if sufficient numbers of people chose not to use the service it would be moved or pulled. It's not up to the airport to dictate the scheduling.
Once easyjet converge operations in to a single LGW terminal the situation re buses should improve

lfc84 - I did not say that the Airport should dictate the schedule. I said the 'IOM Authorities' by which I mean the Government as a whole, which includes the Department of Economic Development, who are responsible for ensuring that the Island has good connectivity with the places Manx people want to do business with, or reasonably need to travel to, on a regular basis.
Ultimately, this all comes back to the 'open skies' debate, and whether the IOMG should be licensing or franchising routes, in some way, to ensure the right balance of frequency/quality/price/convenience for the passenger. That balance does not exist in the current IOM-LGW market.

On the subject of flight schedules, I see Flybe Sunday evenings from LPL to IOM is 1940 or 1935. In the past its always been 1955. Moving this service forward makes it difficult for those who go to the football matches at Anfield there are 1605 or 1615 kick off times this winter.

In highly regulated markets it's usually the passenger who suffers. Airlines are not public services. They are out to make a profit. If they can make more profit flying some place mid afternoon then they will and then stick an IOM rotation on to the end of the day. It may not be business friendly but choice is choice. I'm sure many are grateful of the services EZY provide.
There may not be a perceived balance between frequency/quality/price/convenience. If you manipulate one aspect of these qualities then another will suffer to make make up for it. Let the market decide what's best.

LFC84 with regard to the eariler LPL IOM departure. to rephrase your post 2764 slightly
Although the earlier departure on the LPL- IOM is not ideal, rest assured that if sufficient numbers of people choose not to use the service it would be moved or pulled.
Do EZY not cater for the football supporters from LPL?

Flybe
Has anyone heard any information concerning Stobart Air operating the Flybe IOM flights from an IOM base.
From the Flybe thread this seems to have some mileage.

Not sure of the relevance of your post Skipness - all IOM LCY IOM flights seem to be essentially on time so far today.....
Now there does seem to be an LCY DUS flight cancelled which is operated by a Saab 2000 I grant you but you are posting in the IOM thread!
Further:
Looking on FR24 G-CDEB has been operating IOM LCY IOM all day to day, with G-CDKA being on the DUS LCY DUS route.

See the LCY>IOM flight is delayed tonight; the LCY>DUS flight departed 30 minutes after the IoM flight landed at LCY so... did they swop the usually reliable G-CDEB for the unreliable G-CDKA and the IOM pax are now stranded? Or am I reading too much into the unreliable Eastern's Jonah plane?

Fantastic to see BACF have added another rotation into the IOM-LCY route from the end of October and at good value prices too. Hopefully we can dispel the myth that this is a niche route and people will begin to understand the real value and reliability that this service provides to a very convenient airport. On Friday I was at the gate from the centre of London in less than 40 mins it took less than 10 mins from getting off the DLR to getting into the departure lounge. I defy any other airport to beat this!
For those of you who agree with me please encourage your friends and family to use this service and keep it going. A four times a day weekly service is best in class for any airport from the IOM.

IOMX, I agree with your sentiment regarding LCY, I would however point out that this winter the IOM will also have a four times daily weekday Flybe service to Liverpool. This in addition to the five times daily weekday Flybe service to Manchester. It will be interesting to see how these increased frequencies will do.

And this winter it will be Stobart Air operating on behalf of FlyBe and Aer Lingus, Eastern Airways operating on behalf of BA Cityflyer, Vanair Europe operating on behalf of Citywing, and easyJet as the only carrier operating on behalf of itself.
What a circus!!

There was a small item on one of the local radio station's news pages, which also says they are trying to recruit local cabin crew
