Isn't there an aerodrome located just north of Formby? Depending on what facilities they offer, I mean Citywing could just hire out some linked up portacabins for the checkin, departures & arrivals? Just for the short term, unless Formby has some sort of terminal building?

That's the one, well the joint military/civilian airfields do happen, so fingers crossed, plus it's not that far from Blackpool and could pull in people from Liverpool? Let's hope Citywing look into it

Flybe resurrecting an old EuroManx route on the 29MAR from Ronaldsway to Stansted, 3xM-F 1xSat 1xSun, now bookable.
Also, to plug the no morning EZY LGW gap on Tues-Thurs, BA Cityflyer will be operating another service to LCY from 02-18DEC and 20JAN-26MAR.

The extra IOM/LCY capacity is seriously needed and the extra rotations by BACF are most welcome. It is getting harder to book a seat on this route at short notice.
I do wonder whether FlyBe adding such a substantial number of seats to an airport which is as almost as remote from Central London as Birmingham will help to satisfy any additional London bound traffic demand. FlyBe seem to have done a deal with MAG to open routes from STN as part of their reported 3 year deal at MAN. I guess this is another move under our open skies arrangements. It would have been better to encourage the existing operators to increase capacity and thus secure route continuity. Although sadly it seems easyJet are content to limit capacity in summer to use their aircraft for more lucrative work.
BTW the EuroManx STN route lasted about a month IIRC.

IOM - MAN has been the only bright spot in a dismal 2014 at Ronaldway, apparently picking up connecting pax since FlyBe's demise on LGW and the lack of replacement capacity by easyJet, and their own lack of capacity on LPL
However, FlyBe have today rehashed their IOM - MAN schedule for S15, apparently to accomodate the new IOM - STN service, without night-stopping a third aircraft.
As a result, although the service remains x 5 M-F , there are many changes to timings meaning that there are now no connections via the MAN hub in the last inbound and outbound flights. There are also two late morning IOM-MAN within 30 minutes, followed by a lovely easyJet shaped 6 hour gap, until the two evening flights.
It seems to be a very bizarre tactic, to cannibalise such a thriving and successful route and schedule, to facilitate the launch of the rather questionable looking x 3 daily IOM - STN, and to open the door to you main competitor to dump 300 seats a day into the market.

It was cheaper due to the sale thats currently ongoing
I'm sure there will be a marketing email along shortly
Would be interesting to hear your comments of the actual service once you have travelled

Flown IOM-STN a few times recently. Good service and actually quite good for connecting to London. But the less than half load can't be sustainable.
Shame really, FlyBe could continue to be an excellent commodity for the IOM if they sorted their scheduling out. Crews are always great though.

STN was tried by Euromanx. The only benefit at the time was that it offered potential connections to FR routes, but most of these are now available through LPL.
Fly be are really struggling and are I am afraid are a victim of the open skies regime which has been followed by the IOM Gov.
EZY will only ever give the Island the crumbs round the edges of its network.

Agreed Fella - easy provide a service to suit themselves and not the Islands passengers needs. some of the timings are useless but when they've got you over a barrel and the numpties up in Toy Town can still say 'oooh look at our wonderful airlinks but by the way they are b.....y useless times' it's hobsons choice.
