At the moment, the Liege fight from LTN is still in the system with an 06.30 departure, so that implies the based aircraft is still happening. Having said that, the Liege-Birmingham, which was the next sector seems to have gone, as has the Liege -Lorient. Unless they plan something very different from Liege for the middle sectors, I think the likelihood of the Luton-Liege continuing with a based aircraft is unlikely. Having said that, they are still advertising for Luton based cabin crew on the Aer Arran website.

Over the Easter period Good Friday to Easter Monday (14th - 17th April 2006) the airport will handle 115K passengers a 15 percent increase on the Easter period in 2005.
New scheduled services so far this year are:

Prague is to be operated on a 738. Was also a bit surprised by this one as Thomsonfly ops from Luton are geared more toward the sunshine/resort locations, rather than the city ones. I am sure it will do well though.

Luton Airport Parkway closed to all trains
Incident reported at 06:25 this morning.
All lines blocked south of Luton. No trains running.
I would not normally report this here - but this one is going to run for a while. Normally such incidents do not last as long before they get 2 tracks open again with an emergency service.
It is 12:20 now - and there is no estimate to clear line.
Thameslink (first capital connect) trains shuttle Luton and Bedfrod only.
MML trains north of Luton only.
NO SERVICE at LAP.

budget and challenging timescales. This will be achieved by creating large
open-plan areas, without a single cellular office, combined with a strong
corporate identity. The outside cladding will be painted orange, giving the
'low-cost' airline visibility, even from the air.
Included in the management challenge for Area Sq is to ensure the fit-out
project takes into considerations such areas as landside/airside security
and the ongoing requirements of the airside hangar maintenance operations.
The internal construction works will commence at the end of April, and
will have to be coordinated with the external cladding contract to ensure
the building remains water-tight during the key fit out stages.
Huw Thomas, Property Director at easyJet says:
'We appointed Area Sq on the basis that they understood the easyJet
culture and they were able to deliver a cost-effective solution.
Consolidating our premises also means savings to the business, which
ultimately will be passed on to the consumer.'

H89 daubed in orange should lower the class of the airport even more!
So Arann have really cocked up their intentions from Luton for early summer 2006! One minute they are launching new routes, the next, they are inheriting established ones from Air Wales and not flying those recently announced from Luton!...................And they say that Ryanair 'shaft' their customers!
If Arann announce the re-launch of Angers and Liege, will anyone actually believe that they will actually operate the routes?
I bet there is some Welsh development aid involved here following on from the death of the Welsh flag carrier, or am I being cynical? Newquay to Cardiff seems a 'prime' route to inherit!

Originally scheduled 6 x weekly commencing 27 March, with an 0900 dep ex LTN. Then changed to 3 x weekly with a 14.20 dep, being operated by the based aircraft upon its return from its first daily rotation from Liege. On the other three days it was scheduled for Angers with the same dep time. For the moment, times are still showing (and bookable) for M,W,F @14.20, only now there is no based aircraft to operate the route. So, will the schedule to LRT change yet again, or will the route be dropped ?. Answers on a postcard please to........
