Really? Are Morocco and Turkey signed up to the EU open skies agreement? For some reason which I can't explain I never thought a low cost would fly to a country not signed up!
Also, isn't Turkey a little far? I was always in the belief the Athens - Luton flight was about the longest sector a low cost airline could do to ensure it remains profitable.

I told you a few eye brows would be raised!
Morocco has some kind of 'open skies' deal with the EU, a low cost is to be formed by Corsair to operate from Casablanca. turkey is trying its best to become part of the EU (Northern Cyprus a major stumbling block!)
Rumour on the Air Blue thread of a Pakistan Luton schedule.
Arann to Liege has gone quiet?
On a press release from easyJet that they published today another airport was mentioned also as a destination in Croatia as well, I wonder if the 'top banana' (that is a clue) in easyLand made a mistake accidentally revealing another future destination?

Interesting figure on easy's website stating they operate 924 weekly flights through LTN at the peak and will carry 5.8m pax through the airport this year.

No idea if it was from Luton, but could operate on the 3 days that they do not fly to Rijeka.

Dont think its just recognising Cyprus which is the stumbling block, how about an appalling human rights record and a refusal to accept the genocide of the Amernians in 1915 which is stopping them joining the EU plus many more!
Anyway, moving on, I've definately got a quote from Stelios somewhere stating Athens is really too long a flight for easy to operate and he only really opened it because of his Greek origins. Ryanair have also said a 3 hour flight is the tops for a loco to operate.
How the hell is Instanbul going to work!?

![Question](https://www.pprune.org/images/infopop/icons/icon5.gif)
So are Thomsonfly really operating scheduled services from Luton this summer or just filling up their Thomson Holidays charter flights?
Looking at their timetable no two days are the same.

Add to that the 4 additional easyjet airframes. Anyone got 5 new stands available they don’t want as I think LTN needs them urgently

[QUOTE=King Pong]I quoting
''...
Letters have been sent to those who live close to the runway
...''
I received one of those and I live just off the town centre.
I do not know whether thats because they are covering a large area with the letters or because there going to be a lot of noise. All I can say if I can hear it this far away then its going to be a lot louder than aircraft. To put that in context with what I can hear, just about the only aircraft I notice are things like 737-200s and 111s and the like and we don't get too many of those these days. Networkrail pushing pebbles around their tracks at night is a bigger problem here but lets not digress too far.

Air Blue dot com web site states flights to the UK to commence in 2006. Fill the SweFly void?
See this thread: http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...light=air+blue
ATR72 based, good news, Liege is rather handy for quite a few countries apart from Belgium.

Shame they will not have enough crew to operate the new aircraft. Plans are being drawn up to "consolidate some lines of flying" to ease the crew shortage...
LTNman=The apron was poorly designed with limited appeal to the cargo operators
This must be one of the factors in DHL returning as soon as the runway reopens H24 in July, and talking about a big-time presence from December this year when normal service resumes.

With Aer Arran now basing an ATR72 at LTN, flights to LRT now depart at 14.25, 3 x weekly(was originally planned 6 x weekly dep at 0900) and 3 x weekly to ANE, also departing mid afternoon. Flights to LGG operate 6 x weekly with an 0630 dep and a 1335 arr back into LTN. This will give the airline a total of 100 weekly flights into/out of LTN.

LLAO doesn't have the available spare stand capacity to accomodate 'dead' aircraft and is likely to charge a significant premium for this sort of activity in order to discourage it. Manston's fairly empty these days, I believe...
I would have thought that these extra 5 LTN based aircraft will kill off any short term Ryanair expansion plans for LTN.
![Boo Hoo](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/boohoo.gif)
But until easyjet announce enough new LTN routes to occupy 4 additional aircraft nothing can be taken for granted despite what has been written here.

Without the cargo apron being expanded there can be no big time presence. There is no mention in the 2030 document about a larger cargo apron either

I wonder what the daily movement rate will be come summer 06, and for that matter, peak hourly rate?
