Correct guess for the Monarch kit. Premium and economy configs so take your pick.

You boasting G-AZUK, a little over 2 inches your other half must be pleased.

Yes, FCA will operate with the route with it's 767's in their new config.

Far more leg room in BOTH cabins than any other UK charter airline currently has. Until the other operators catch up (and I'm sure in time they will!), then there's only one sensible option for getting there - FCA.......

Funny old game this, Air 2000 led the way with pack them in standing room only, others followed suit to remain competitive, now they are the first to remove seats as First Choice and offer more leg room. Soon be back to No's of pax the aircraft were designed for. How times change.

Yeah right ! So how do get to that conclusion when BAL and MON were doing longhaul before AMM and when it was just 757's who had the 235 config ? Yep BAL,MON,AIH,TCX meanwhile AMM/FCA stayed at 233 !

I will admit that AMM lead the way in Meals, modern aircraft ,on-time performance and now a quality longhaul product

when these questions come up about charter airlines why does

it always turn into a slanging match about who is best..

only last week i was in vancouver with a tcx crew in the hotel

they get the same moans and groans as we do. we smile and

just get on with it. why make out your better than someone else.

oh and charming man AIH/MYT never had 235 in the 757. .233

Well, personally, most of the large charter operators are pretty similar in their performance. There are good days and bad days amongst them all.

Currently on long haul however, there is only one product which DOES stand out. That is the new FCA long haul config - FAR better than anyone elses!!!!!

I don't expect it to last - like most things in this industry advances upon competitors are only ever short lasting. Others will change their config to match the FCA product, as to passengers it's a complete winner. I expect others will be at the same level within 24 months......at the outside.

Yes, FCA will operate MBA fortnightly from MAN. It's aTuesday evening departure at 2100 starting Dec 20th.

From LGW it is weekly starting Nov 4th departure at 1830.

Referance seat capacity, Mon & air europe operated for years at a 228 config. Then Air2000 came along in 85 and decided they could get 233 onboard, with approval from the CAA. Of course Mon had to follow to remain competitive even though it was an expensive process buying seats and all certification requirements, including moving most of the PSU's in the cabin. Of course a few years later Air2000 decided that they could get 235 onboard, and the whole process started again. Of course this was the standard set as all the IT 757 operators then operated at 235 capacity. It does seem ironic that they're now reducing the seating capacity particularly when pricing is so ferocious, but it's nice to see as i'm sure it must make for a more comfortable aircraft.

Rumour has it that FCA thought they were leasing the 767 with ability to offer high density seating for the charter market but found they had the aircraft without the strenghtened floor. Only a total of 80 of those around so hard to come by, hence the enforced move upmarket. Hope it works for them so others can follow suit.

We need more operators to bite the bullet and offer improved legroom.

Albert,

The cabin upgrade had been planned way before the aircraft had even been sourced. had new ones not ben sourced, the lease those released would have been renewed - and those changed anyhow.

The cabin IS a winner - passengers love it - and and previously said, I'm sure all the other charter operators will follow suit so that once again it is an even playing field for passenger choice between operators.

30W thanks as they say, never let the truth get in the way of a good rumour.

Most important thing is they are paving the way and will encourage others to follow suit.

My previous company operated the 752 in a 189 config. The passengers loved it as did the charterers. Can we learn from this?

In the winter FCA operate a 752 in an exec 88 seat config, for special charters. The aircraft looks fantastic inside with Cathay Pacific First Class seats fitted.

But, boy - do the passengers certainly have to pay for it!!

I thought TCX were the first to use the less seats, more room? In Summer 2004 they had 2 B757-200's with 180-ish leather seats for Canadian flights for Canadian Affair! FCA first did it in Summer 2005, surely then TCX were first??
