why not Cairo
Cairo is NOT expensive for hotels......Even without BA crew discounts..........the city is crowded, but the airport is reasonable clear....depends on the time of day/night.....BUT why stop the Saudi flights......which will be next.......Bumz

5 hours is a bit of an exagerration. Outbound flt time is 6hrs 5 return. 9h55. 1 hour on the ground, 1/2 descending and climbing. the return JED used to be 90mins longer than the outbound anyway due the prevailing wind, giving an additional flight time of er, nothing over any other tech stop. PLUS BA get to pick up extra pax and freight in KWI where there is currently extra demand that there isnt in CAI.

Finally got www.ba.com working, see that they are operating LHR-JED-KWI-LHR, so my 5 hour assumption was wrong as it was based on KWI-JED-LHR.
