Well Jet 1, to quote you.........If you carnt get in on CAT II it is unlikely you will get in on a CAT III but of course that 50 Radio might make all the difference but in my experiences - NOT.

If you are a A320 pilot you must be popular with your company thinking that if you can't get in on a CAT II then the same would apply with CAT III (A or B).

lpl

lets stop the bickering and just acknowledge that this is yet another important step forward for low cost availibality in the North West. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out?

I am surprised Ryanair are not marketing Liverpool as 'London Liverpool' or 'Cardiff Liverpool', or even 'Dublin Liverpool'....they have a knack of describibg airport locations with a certain amount of artistic licence!

Firstly. With regards to Jet A1s comments and in support to other people who have replied to this topic(or diversion of it) i'm sure we would all like to be flying A320s but not all of us are fortunate enough to be spoon fed by rich parents or who were not lucky enough to be picked for sponsorship(not because your better but simply because there are not enough sponsorship places) or in my case investing in a flying company who did the pleasurable thing of going bust and taking my money with them(which I might add I am still paying off today and will be for a long time). Point being Jet A1 don't think your special and please don't belittle others on this forum. If that doesn't work, your licence is only as good as your medical so take it easy or you might be joining the wonderful world of 'plane spotting'.

I don't wish to offend anyone because I don't know you and I only do it to peoples faces but I suggest you don't write statements like that because it upsets people for a variety of reasons.

With regards to the Ryanair news yesterday I'm surprised nobody has given a mention to Blackpool's new route. The 2 we already have with Ryanair have proved very successful and hopefully this one will prove same. Every airport has got to start somewhere and I wish BLK every success.

Vuelo,
I doubt it as Liverpool Airport is only 7 miles from the city centre.

BPL321,
Couldn't agree more with your last para.
Do any of the people knocking Liverpools facilities remember or know what it was like before Peel took over. CAT1 ILS on 09 must be better than the LOC/DME approach it had up to a few years ago.

Friio4. Yeah your right. Before EasyJet arrived at LPL the airport was not much better/bigger than BLK. Just shows how 1 airline
and a bit of marketing can turn a small airport not very well known into a thriving business centre that it is now. I just hope the same happens at BLK in the future. I know there are more route annoucements due soon for BLK.

Inkjet, BPL321, I echo your comments.

I have been a regular passenger through LPL since the days of the old terminal (now the Marriott) and the transformation has been nothing short of spectacular. We should all congratulate the management and Peel for the efforts, and sheer hard work and determination over recent years.

dwlpl, following on from your last comment, are you in a position to shed any more light on proposed routes, or are we just talking about utilising the soon-to-be-based FR 738s better (ie: one of them sits on the tarmac until 1410 without any movements, and one finishes for the day at 1725!)
