New Years Eve

Apologies if I've picked the wrong forum.
I have a daughter who is flying from MEL to LHR with Malaysian on New Years Eve are the passenger loads likely to be high considering this is more or less a world holiday??

From my experience the closer you get to the actual date of the holiday the lighter the loads become on Long Haul International flights and heavier on Domestic and Short Haul. For example the loads on 23rd Dec/30th Dec are likely to be higher, (on LH), than on 24th Dec/31st Dec.
The rational being that people like to arrive in time for the actual holiday. Your daughter will be seeing in the New Year whilst airborne and most of the parties will be on the ground!
Not a lot happens in Europe on January 1st so there won't be a lot of business travel either.
Hope this helps, (hope it's accurate!).

Well, if that is the seats available rather than the booked load I can only agree!!!
That said, probably be a few 'no-shows' but that still leaves quite full flights.

Travelled BKK/DXB/LHR on New Year's Eve on EK. Flights were pretty full but we all received a flower necklace - nice touch
