The new BMI Las Vegas Route

As we all know, BMi will start 3 x weekly services to Las Vegas from Manchester this winter.

What I don't know though is if this run is just going to be a seasonal service or whether the flights will continue into next Summer?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I'm currently *thinking* of going to Vegas next May for a few days and a direct flight from a Northern Airport would be fantastic. Problem is, I can't see the flights on the BMI website!

Winter only I think, as are the Caribbean flights I think. The 3rd 330 then goes back onto the MAN-YYZ flights in the summer
Correct me if wrong please

Toronto is a summer only stopgap, apparently not doing too well, and unlikely to come back next year. Not heard any other plans for BMI longhaul next summer.

Sad to hear BMI are not continuing YYZ, but summer only services don't engender too much loyalty - us YYZ expats (especially Irish ones) need winter service. However, a lot of the BA pax ex LHR seem to be transit from Asia and from the Finnair codeshare so maybe BMI isn't getting enough of that traffic.

Add to that that seasonal is hardly good for building up a good cargo load (and a 330 will haul a good amount) which has sustained Aer Lingus on it's lightest transatlantic routes.

If the Toronto flight isn't doing very well it certainly isn't for lack of passengers. I've been watching the loads the last little while as I've been trying to get a standby out to TO. Seems whenever I want to travel it is overbooked or has only single figures left in terms of available seats. I appreciate that the loads will be at their best at the moment with the kiddies off school, but as I say they are certainly full at the moment. I know a couple of others who've tried to travel on the Toronto flight and been turned away because the flights have been full. So it isn't just me.

Now then, what I want to know is when bmi is going to start MAN-YYC-YVR-YYC-MAN. Bring it on.
