Ryanair at LBA

Reading about RYR at Londonderry made me think about them in my own back yard. At the moment RYR use a 737-200 for the Dublin route but I believe these aircraft are to be withdrawn some time next year. RYR have occasionally used an -800 from LBA but I've heard they're not too keen on regularising this on account of the runway length. Mind you, Pegasus and Air Europa are frequent -800 visitors and I've not heard of them having any difficulties or concerns and they fly much longer distances. Perhaps their aircraft have more powerful engines than the RYR machines.

Do RYR have any former Buzz -300s knocking around ? If so I guess they would be the obvious choice to replace the old bangers.

On the other hand, they could pack it in and give it to Aer Lingus

Mark D,

Yes, I've had another look at LDY this morning (Sat). I guess this answers the question about the possibility of -300s.

At the moment there's usually at least 100 pax on the DUB-LBA-DUB flights. Allowing for natural growth on the route and assuming the RYR -800s seat 189 pax, you could probably sell a maximum of 150-ish seats on this aircraft and be able to use RW14/32 comfortably. And maybe even make some money at the same time
